Robert Doyle, DMD, MPH, MAGD
Dr. Doyle’s recent honor of being named a Master of General Dentistry puts him in a class of fewer than 300 dentists in the history of the dental board. With his extensive knowledge of dentistry and over 15 years chairside, Dr. Doyle dedicates his time to his passion, helping other dental professionals excel and optimizing patient care.
Master in the Academy of General Dentistry Award
A general dentist who is a “Master” in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader and example to other dentists of the importance of quality continuing dental education to patient care. Masters have accepted the charge to keep abreast of advances in dentistry for the benefit of patients and the betterment of dentistry. They serve as mentors and leaders to other dentists pursuing continuing dental education. They set examples in their communities with their hard work, concern, and involvement.
What is special about a dentist who has an award from the Academy of General Dentistry?
The Mastership Award is the highest honor available in the AGD and one of the most respected designations in the profession. The accomplishment meets the highest criteria for professional excellence. To accomplish this, Dr. Doyle completed 1,100 hours of coursework in 16 areas of dentistry to receive the Mastership Award from the AGD, a professional association of more than 35,000 general dentists. The achievement marks a significant milestone in his career because the award demonstrates Dr. Doyle’s long-term commitment to go above and beyond continuing education requirements to provide his patients with the most up-to-date treatment options and superior patient care.
Master of Public Health
A low percentile of dentists nationally have this degree. A doctor with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree has obtained an education in disease prevention and control, social and health policies, global health issues, food policies, and ethical issues in public health administration. Doctors with an MPH degree are often public health physicians who work in the public sector, but obtaining an MPH provides other career options, including epidemiology, food safety inspection, and health policy analysis.
International Congress of Implantology
Dr. Doyle is a diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). The ICOI was founded in 1972. Devoted to providing implant education to the entire dental team to better serve its patients, the ICOI is not only the world’s largest dental implant organization but also the world’s largest provider of continuing dental implant education.
The ICOI is an association of general dentists, oral and maxillofacial periodontists, prosthodontists, endodontists, orthodontists, laboratory technicians, auxiliaries, industry representatives, researchers, faculty members, and pre- and post-doctoral graduate dental students, as well as the general public.
